India beats the world!
India Sparacia from Year 8 has won top prize in the 11-14 age group in the most prestigious international digital photography competition. Organised by Digital Camera magazine and its sister website Photoradar.com, the competition attracted over 100,000 entries from more than 100 countries.
India's photograph, "Sea through the window" was taken on the beach near her home. India says: "As I was walking along the beach, I came across a shed. I could see the sea through the window. The light was so perfect, and I liked the way the window framed the scene."
Apart from some cropping, the photo needed no 'photoshop' editing, and was taken on India's Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 camera at 10.4mm, ISO 100, 1/250 sec at f/5.
Head of Art Clive Garland said: "For India this is just the tip of the iceberg. She has a lot of talent and could go a long way."
